How do you get rid of algie bloom in ponds?

we have tried everything (the stuff that says it gets rid of algae, liquid shade, bacteria treatments, barley, even had the algae eating fish) but nothing works, we have a 150 gallon pond with 3 turtles living in it. we clean out our pond and change the water and filter every couple weeks. How do you get rid of algie bloom in ponds?
Your best bet would be to use chlorine, (very diluted), seeing as it's freshwater, right? There are other acids and bases you can find a a hot tub store you can use to.

I have a pink flowering dogwood, but it has yet to fully bloom. I've only had it a year. What's wrong?

I would plant another one for them to pollinate usually by early april they will bloom.

Good LuckI have a pink flowering dogwood, but it has yet to fully bloom. I've only had it a year. What's wrong?
It has taken 7 years for ours to produce its first show of bloom this spring.

Apparently they need a long time to get established.I have a pink flowering dogwood, but it has yet to fully bloom. I've only had it a year. What's wrong?
wait another 2 weeks
this unusually cold weather. you are not doing anything wrong
Pink and red dogwoods are slower to bloom than the white. Just give it more time. The weather has been unusually cold this year, that may be slowing it down also.
Give it some more time.

Is anyone else out there a fan of the book ';Rose in Bloom'; by Louisa May Alcott?

If you are, please tell me why you appreciate it, how it has influenced your life, if you relate to the characters, if any of the characters remind you of people you know, and/or any other details you want to include. It helped to shape my ideals, and I'm curious to know whether this book has influenced the lives of other people out there. Is anyone else out there a fan of the book ';Rose in Bloom'; by Louisa May Alcott?
I liked it, it was very well written and very good. I never thought about relating charaters. I liked Uncle Alec alot. He was a good person.

Why doesn't my rose bush bloom?

I have a climbing rose bush and for some reason I don't have any blooms on it. It is growing quite well, but still no blooms. Last year it bloomed all the time. Any suggestions? Why doesn't my rose bush bloom?
I always save banana peelings %26amp; coffee grounds and put around the bottoms of the rose bushes and continue all thru summer and fall you will see a big difference in the blooming and the branches themselves. If you dont have coffee grounds you can also use tea bags but they need to be wet.Good luck with the blooms. Why doesn't my rose bush bloom?
check the ph of your soil, add some bone meal and a specific rose fertilizer.
roses are acidic plants. and the rose has already taken all the acid out of the soil. just sprincle some epsom salt around the base of the plant. that will make it bloom beautifuly. also if u are spraying the leaves of the plant stop. roses dont respond to it well. just water it on the base. just sprincle the epsom salt on it 1time a month.

good luck.
You need to fertilize.
fertilize with a mix of manure and compost.use only organic ferts.prune!prune!prune! one of the biggest mistakes is not pruning.cut each stem down to the next five leaf.as for climbing roses,(wild roses)a hard pruning can only help.dont take more than one third at a time.also a product by fox farms called tiger bloom work wonders.good luck
I'm assuming you fertilized it in the Spring- but maybe it was the wrong kind (try Miracle Grow for Roses- that works pretty good for me). Also make sure your bush is getting at least 5 hours of DIRECT sun every day (roses will grow in the shade- they just won't bloom). You also could have the odd bush- that for reasons all its own- blooms every other year (I've had a couple of THOSE- never could figure out why they did that). If you don't get any flowers next year- tear the bushes out %26amp; plant new ones. Don't give up!
it may depend on the climate of the region in which you are residing. i find roses flourish in very wet and temperate enviroments (England, for example) has your region been experiencing a drought?
roses need a few years to mature before they actually bud huge roses
Check the pH with any soil test kit. If the pH is too far off the plant will not be able to properly utilizes the nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in your fertilizers.

Most roses grow well with a soil pH of 5.5 to 7, although a pH of 6.5 is ideal. If you find that the pH is too high there are several things you can do to lower the pH including adding coffee grinds as a topping to the soil. If you find your pH is too low you can use limestone.

Compost can also help as a top dressing it helps maintain a somewhat neutral pH (7.0 +/-).
Put a banana peel in the dirt around your rosebush and stand back and watch!!It's also great for tomatoes!!(Yes!! It really works!!)
I'll make your bush bloom .. haha im totally joking
Maybe it's sick. Maybe it needs more fertilizer and water. Or maybe it's out of season.
Is it well trimmed? If it still has old blooms hanging around, then it will prevent others from blooming (they need to be cut as they start to bloom). Also, how are they being watered? Only at ground level, I hope. Anything above that doesn't need it. How does the ';trunk'; look?

I hope your roses bloom soon. Good luck!
try some potassium rich fertalizer, potassium triggers flowering.
Use Espoma rose tone and water consistently.
Maybe you need to prune it? That always makes mine bloom, but I don't have climbers either.
too much shade? get a blooming flower fertilizer for it,

My lillies didn't bloom this year. they came up but not bloom any idea why?

Here is an article you need to read - you probably didn't fertilize at the right time.

Check for pests, such as the Japanese Lily Beetle. Another reason may be that your bulbs could use a boost. Try working in some compost or bulb fertilizer around your bulbs.

  • Why anent my amaryllis blooming, thy were supposed to bloom around chrismas?

Have the bulbs sprouted any greenery? How are they planted, did you leave the top of the bulb above the soil line?

How long will my mums bloom? i just bought a bunch for my garden hoping they will take me threw oct...?

Asking a plant to bloom continuously for more then two months is a bit much. Most will give four weeks some a bit more. But if you snip each spent flower they will have some level of repeat bloom later.

If they offer less than you wish go to a nursery and see if they have sale plants that might fill out the display. Most nurseries have a shelf or corner where plants past their prime are sold off. Mums are easy to get that way.How long will my mums bloom? i just bought a bunch for my garden hoping they will take me threw oct...?
Hi, They will last about 4 to 6 weeks. I have noticed that the nurseries throughout the North East are pushing MUMS this year which started as yearly as late July. This is fine if you intend to pot them and annuals. But if you want then to last into the traditional Fall Mum period--- it is unlikely.
