I have had a sago palm for the last 20 years or so, and it has bloomed every year just like clockwork each spring. Usually, it would bloom a few times (a few stalks would come out and have successive blooms over about a month) and then just continue growing the single stalk. A few years ago, it bloomed and then split into two stalks, where it currently is now.
I would say just leave it alone and let it do its thing. But, blooming isn't going to cause it to die. However, you may lose all the leaves during the blooming period. But, they'll be back in no time.Do sago palms die after they bloom?
It won't die, around here the Sago Palms bloom every summer. Even if they did die after flowering, cutting the cone off wouldn't help, because the palm already started flowering.
It will not die. Sago palms have long lifespans and can be worth a pretty penny if well maintained.
