Is Sedona, Arizona a good place to see the desert in bloom, and when?

Peace and LoveIs Sedona, Arizona a good place to see the desert in bloom, and when?
I was near there, in Cornville, one Spring. I don't remember landscapes of flowers like there are in other places of the desert, but it is a nice place to visit.
