How many years must you grow irises before they will bloom?

When I transplant iris, they seem to need to rest for a year before blooming again. When I plant a rhizome store-bought, it also seems to take a year. However, to give you more information about iris growth and care, you might take a look at the following sites:How many years must you grow irises before they will bloom?
i planted all my iris last year during a drought....i gave them a little water and basically ignored them rest of time...this spring 90% of them bloomed and some bloomed very heavily

if your iris have been in the ground at least 2 yrs and have not bloomed dig them up and plant them shallower...iris do best if part of the rhizome is not completely covered..where the leaves come out can be left at ground level uncovered..also do not mulch them..bare ground is best..remove any weeds that come up in the iris bed also

i have clay ground and mine did better than my mom said they should have...lol...i even divided them up into small single rhizomes and now most are triple in size...all of this in less than a yrs time

hope this helpsHow many years must you grow irises before they will bloom?
If you plant them in the fall some of them will bloom the following spring. The second spring you will see many more blooms.
plant them in the fall and they should bloom the following spring.
