My Roman lettuce is starting to bloom. Should I clip the bloom off to allow it to continue to grow or let go?

Once lettuce blums it is referred to as ';bolting.'; You could clip the bloom and continue to nurture side leaves, etc. But once lettuce bolts, the plant can become tough. But as long as the plant continues to produce tender leaves, I'd let it got...My Roman lettuce is starting to bloom. Should I clip the bloom off to allow it to continue to grow or let go?
Once lettuce bolts there is no stopping it. Take what you can off of it and toss the rest in the compost pile. Or let it die where it stands and dig it in for the winter.My Roman lettuce is starting to bloom. Should I clip the bloom off to allow it to continue to grow or let go?
Lettuce is an annual, once it blooms (bolts) it is at the end of its life cycle. plant again.
