It's planted in a large pot outdoors. It is growing, green and healthy, but has stopped blooming. I fertilized it with acid fertilizer in early spring. Why doesn't my rhododendron plant bloom?
Buy it an iPod and let it listen to La Mer by Claude Debussy....it worked on my pepper trees!!jrWhy doesn't my rhododendron plant bloom?

perhaps you added too much fertiliser to the pot and the plant only wants to flower little and produce more foliage than flowers give it time if this is your first rhodo. give it one more year and if the problem is still occuring look into it some more.
Maybe it needs more sun or maybe the pot needs to be bigger.
You could add some potash to encourage flowering.

Greetings Sally,
I had a problem I believe that was similar to what you are going through. Perhaps your plant is suffering from Photo-trauma. It occurs in plans whenever they aren't subject to sunlight in the early stages of growing.
