What time of the year do rose bushes bloom?

Depends on the species, I have a bush rose that is in full bloom right now, and I have some hybrid teas that haven't started yet, but when they do they will bloom till frost. What time of the year do rose bushes bloom?
How do I rate people's answers? I just joined this %26amp; is that something I am supposed to do? Report Abuse

Well, they should be leafing out buy now, even if you are in a colder climate, as I say here in Georgia some of mine are in full bloom, if you only have sticks that isn't a good sign. I prune mine in late winter, before the buds begin to swell, before they leaf out. Report Abuse

Here I prune mine back around the end of February, then my hybrid teas are pruned throughout the summer to keep them blooming, bush roses I only prune in late winter. Pruning encourages new growth, you don't want to encourage new growth in the fall, I always prune when they are fully dormant. Report Abuse

They may have been hit by the cold, hybrid teas are often very susceptible to freezing in colder climates, either that or it is possible they were pruned back too far or too early. Report Abuse

If you are in a colder climate, give them a little more time, maybe they will put out some growth, but if the stems are brown all the way to the base then I doubt they will. If you have hybrid teas you will see a ';knot'; near ground level, Report Abuse

many times what happens is that the top will die and the rootstock will live, the rootstock is usually hardier, if this is the case you may see new shoots coming from below the ';knot'; (which is where they are grafted) Report Abuse

the rootstock is usually not a desirable species, they are usually a white dog rose, a running variety Report Abuse

Early spring to early summer....in my area...
spring and summer- winter pruning will aid the blooming and growth!!
Spring to fall and all in between.
Mine are budded right now and color starting to show.
