they will bloom heaviest where they get more than 6 hour sun a dayDo Knockout Roses bloom in the shade?
What Fluf said. Roses will take (and thrive) in full sun.Do Knockout Roses bloom in the shade?
No known variety will thrive in full shade. There are some miniatures and a few climbing and shrub roses that are fairly shade tolerant and will adjust to partial shade, including the knockout rose.
See source for more information.
All roses require sun to set a good bloom. I care for 250 roses year round most of them are knockout. They are all in the full sun and are stunning. Minimum requirements are 6-8 hrs sun for good bloom. Four hours of sun will get some bloom. Anything less than that will probably be mostly foliage.
